Observing at SOAR
The sunset was awesome tonight. Decent weather for observing, despite the clouds on the horizon. We found out, somewhat last minute, that they don´t have non-star guiding figured out. In other words, we were the first comet people to try out the scope, and it wasn´t ready, like they said it would be. After a scramble to sort out a new plan, the night was chaos because we could only take 2-3 minute exposures. We had to be behind the computers the whole night, in near total awareness...... Tough. Anyways, I got to actually see a fuzzy blob move agains the stars. I can´t figure out how to display the mosaics properly, but it was fun seeing them.... maybe later... Anyways, we got to sleep for a few hours and then wake up to head down to La Serrena for our flight to Santiago.
