Thursday Nothingness

Today was relatively uneventful. sitting in talks. getting brushed off by some dude who didn't think i was worth talking to. i think the only really memorable thing was this near infrared polarized image taken at 1.3, 1.8 and 2.2 microns of the orion nebula. pretty neat. one thing i noticed today is that i don't think i was eating enough. my hostel "suite" includes breakfast. two pieces of white toast. and the guy that serves breakfast is the same one that has to sleep on the couch at the front door to let in the late-comers so he doesn't get up till 9am to get people toast. so much for that one. and, every place i go out for lunch serves me a truely asian portion. i need two of those. so, in true american and don't-know-what-else to-do fashion - i got pizza hut, the only pizza around. and, get this, a large was about 9" across. of all places i expected to give you a giant, unfinishable amount of food, it would be greasy pizza hut. so, screw this. tomorrow for lunch i'm going back to the all you can eat buffet, but i know what to do now. the buffet is only $14 so if i don't get the $5 little tray of fish or the $5 juice, it will be affordable and worth it. oh yeah, and instead of just breakdancers today in the underpass, it was a girl's line dancing group, two breakdancing groups, some old people doing something like hokey-pokey, and what looked like a girls poker tournament.
