Cinder Cone Hike

To work up an appetite (since rock-house food is greasy as all hell and not always the tastiest), we hiked one of the little hills (pu'u) near HP. I had no idea that there was a huge network of trails here. I'm going to have to hike a lot over the next couple days...... It was really nice to change up the view.

The great eye watches......
Mauna Loa lava flow's and grasslands. Crazy how there is just a few hundred year difference between patches.
With the new super-duper tripod.....
Sean on the cinder cone.
Mauna Loa vista.
The little pu'u that I climbed with Jesse, Erica and Liz last time we were over here. It doesn't look so big now does it........ You can see the 1984 lava flow that swallowed up the grasslands around the hill.

You forgot to say.. 'with the new burly tripod and my HOT pants' =)!

That black and white looks like a Mars pic.

And yeah, I knew that little pu'u was small, but it looks almost silly in that pic.
