Dammit
So, as usual, it was a total panic for about a day. The short story is this - 1) they unplugged our video feed to the control room so nobody up there could see what we were looking at, and couldn't guide the telescope. 2) the visible pickoff mirror was jammed and it took a while to figure that out. 3) The slitviewer camera interface blew up. It took until this morning to figure out that it was the power supply and to replace it. Add all that with not having used it in 6 months and all the usual startup issues and you get a very frantic, hellish night. We gave up at about 5am and finally got most things fixed around 1pm this afternoon. I thought this was interesting - this is an image of a "lamp". The slanted stripes are light. The rest of the vertical and horizontal stuff is just chip "structure". Reduction is going to be fun......
