Maui Days

About 18 hours after getting back from Cali, I found myself on Maui again. Split between the lab and the summit. And meetings. And teleconferences. What a week.

But, the horrible CryoTiger issue may be ebbing... We got back the clean cold head, installed it and vacuum pumped the dewar, recharged the 'ebay tiger' and after a 'fuze freakout' got the system working. Now we just wait to see if it actually works or not.....

At least two nights of observing went well and a referee report came back basically thumbs-up.

I got to show how little I knew of climbing to the Cruzers on two different nights. I managed to make it up a 5.9 once. It's a ton of fun but strange feeling like you can't use your hands the next day because they seized up on you...

PDC,W,P Closing Day

Unwinding after a long day....

The conference kicked off today. I got to grapple this morning with Ryan so, I was definitely sore. Getting to catch up with the community was pretty fantastic. Good people. Good educators. Got skillz. And then some of us got to play pool after having fresh forrest-picked fungi.

Flying to SFO

Off to SFO for a conference in Santa Cruz! I got to stay with Brian & Anne for a day before stealing their car and driving down with team Hawaii.....

Maui Symposium

Mom and I went to Maui for the day. We ran to the summit early. I gave a talk at a symposium in Kihei while she got cooked in the sun. Not a bad day.....
